Play outside this fall with

This Fall, our Focus curriculum is designed to help kids hone the symphony of skills we use to direct, shift and sustain our attention. Throughout the series, we’ll leverage the inherently captivating natural world to teach kids building blocks of focus: how to feel grounded in the moment; how to zoom in and zoom out; how to wonder; and how to follow our interests.

Our lessons follow a steady progression and are organized into three units. First, we zoom in on the many treasures nature provides. Next, we zoom out to notice what is special about our biomes. Last, we zoom inwards to focus on the tools and strategies we can use to support ourselves in focusing as we play and learn. Throughout our series, we’ll focus on rituals that help us feel both grounded and open to discovery.

Classes are for children ages 1-8 with a caring adult. Our fall season includes options for a Wednesday morning class and a Thursday afternoon class, each for 8 weeks beginning in September. Classes meet at Big Cottonwood Regional Park - Holladay Lions Area. Exact meeting location instructions will be provided prior to class.

Every class, you can expect the following:

  • An opening circle featuring song, movement, and community-building

  • An exciting invitation for child-led, nature-inspired play

  • A closing circle including gratitude, a read-aloud, and saying goodbye to our friends

  • Opportunities for grown-up learning and community-building

Grow Outside Nature Play also offers pop-up classes and playdates throughout the season. Check out our upcoming events and subscribe to our mailing list to stay in the loop!
